Right now it is around 75-80F, in about three hours it will be above 100F. Perfect day to spend some time in nice cool water.

Of course, I’m not anywhere near there. Bummer.

Friday Mystery Photo

I want to share some lovely graffiti with you today and see if anyone have seen it. Truly, if I saw it before but didn’t take this photo I would never remember it and would not know where it was. You’d probably need to be into the graffiti to know it all or you are living or frequently visit this city and this specific street to know where it is.

This city has been on the news recently. I’m sure a lot of places have been on the news, but I think this is a good enough lead for you guys.

Saturday Update: Ankur Sharma identified the country and artandkitchen finished it with the city. Thanks guys for stopping by!

It is in Istanbul Turkey.

I did not manage to visit the top of this tower, can’t recall the exact reason, maybe it was already closed, maybe they did not allow tripods, maybe the line was too long, or maybe they wanted too much of my money to go up there. If any of you had a chance to make it to the top I’m sure you had some awesome views, but of what city?

Saturday Update: We have very nice weather in the Carolinas, blue skies and right around 75F, hopefully you have the same! Thanks all for stopping by, many of you know this place well, as you named it. Yes, it is Galata Tower and the city you will see is Istanbul. I’m sure it is very nice view. You got it right: Zoey, Madhu, phoxis and pymphotograph.

Swim at Your Own Risk

If video is not shown in the browser or applications then visit it at Mediterranean Sunrise from Dmitrii on Vimeo.

at this early hour. Lifeguards show up at this tower at much later time, maybe around 9AM or so. Red umbrellas on the left are the hot commodity and get claimed right around this time, during sunrise. You’d usually see old babushkas (grandmas) show up and lay their towels on the chairs and hang around to make sure no one get into their way.

On our three day visit to this part of the Mediterranean the sea was like a lake, just as you see in this photo, calm and nice, no waves, no wind. You could just float in that salty clean water and soak under the hot Turkish sun.
