While in Seattle, one of the places to visit. Every time. Just walk through. Don’t have to do anything else. If hungry, go down to Pier 56 Elliott’s Oyster House and have some oysters.
Last week I went on the ride on the Seattle Great Wheel, it doesn’t take you super high, but it gives some elevation that you are not going to have otherwise at any of the piers. We did it right around sunset to get better western view with Olympic Mountains in the background.
Visiting Seattle is always a treat!
This year is about to be over and so I felt like posting sunset photos today and tomorrow. I thought about doing post with bunch of photos from this year, sort of review, like many other folks do, but then decided against it. I think I had a chance to post a lot of great photos this year and all you have to do is to visit my Photo Gallery and browse through them. If you already have Windows 8 and installed my “Travel Photography” application then you’ll see a slide show of a few of my favorites as well. Speaking of the app, I don’t think anyone on my visitors list have it installed yet, as it shows exact map location of each photo, and I forgot to hide it for this Friday Mystery Photo post, so anyone who had the app would see that it was taken in Savannah Georgia. My early new year wish for you is that somebody brings you some cool new Windows 8 device, so you can install my “Travel Photography” app, haha, yes a little self promotion does not hurt.
This photo was taken on my last business trip to Seattle, which was almost one year ago. I need to figure out how to go back there again, maybe will try to manage something later this summer. I took a few nice photos that evening, I actually did a little sprint to the top of observation deck for this one, I wanted to get this ferry into the frame at the right spot, and they move very fast, not waiting for some photographer to get his bearings and push the trigger.
We were just at our friends having dinner, drinking some Chilean wine. Good food, good conversation. Got back home close to one AM, and we did have a designated driver… so no worries. Its been raining second night in the row, really good for all the greenery around here which was turning into not so greenery…
So we got home and I’m telling my wife that there will be no post on Saturday… well, good to have a supporting wife, I checked my hard drive and discovered that I have this photo seating waiting to be shared with the rest of the world. As many of you might recognize, this ferry coming into Seattle, probably from the Bainbridge island.
Blogging While on Vacation
The prior two weeks I was on vacation visiting my parents in Kazakhstan. Prior to the trip I was planning to continue publishing photos on the normal schedule, but while traveling, especially on vacation, that is very hard to do. Too many other things going on and posting photos is really goes far away from priorities. Now, back in good, comfortable USA, I’ll try to get into the routine…hehe, maybe.
This place does not need special introductions. I took this photo in late January, right before the sunrise.
