Sunset Cruise

Honestly I can’t remember where I took this photo. It is one of these two places: Key West or Biscayne Bay Miami. I took it just about one year ago on our vacation in south Florida. We drove down from Miami to Key West for Christmas and returned back to Miami on our way to the Marco Island. I took a lot of photos during that vacation, so sometimes it might get confusing, what is where.

Thanks folks for visiting and viewing my photography. Your comments are appreciated. If you haven’t figured it out yet, you can click on the photo and it will open in my photo gallery where I have the same image but at a higher resolution. So if you have a big monitor, you might enjoy it better than the small one below.

BTW, I did not plan it, but just realized that yesterday’s photo and today’s photo are on diagonally opposite points. Nothing significant about it, but still kind of interesting that I processed them in this order.

Miss Miami

New Years eve in Miami does not look like a New Years eve at all. it was my first New Years eve close to tropical territory and it was nice and weird. This was the last glimpse of sun in 2010. The same night I took my first fireworks photo. btw, tonight we are going to check out Dixie Classic fair and try to take some fireworks photos.

I was taking pictures from the docks  close to the water. Apparently I was breaking all kind dock rules. Security showed up and asked me to get on the other side of the fence, which is like only 4-5 fit away from the edge of the water but the view from that far away is completely different. Thankfully I got this one before mister security showed up in his little golf cart.

Key Biscayne Light House, Looking West

I had only a few minutes to take this photo, they were shutting the gate and we had to get out from the lighthouse area. You can’t see from here but I was positioned right next to the fence on the rocks and could not move a single each farther away from it. Thankfully I had wide angle lens on the camera and it was able to fit the whole thing into it. You probably saw couple other images of this lighthouse, check them out under Miami category.

Sunset Reflections

The sun is actually behind me in this photo, shining strong on the white walls of this light house with almost like burning bright reflections over the side walk. We probably had extra five minutes at this place before they closed the gates. I wonder if you can take picture there in the summer as sunset will be much later and they might not stay open that late.

Biscayne Bay Sunset

One of the disadvantages of photography is that it doesn’t show the motion of certain things, like wind. One might think that there is no wind in this photo and that it is a nice and calm sunset. Well, they would be very wrong. The wind was blowing like crazy, it was pretty cold, I thought I might get sick from being exposed to it for about 20 straight minutes while trying to take some photos from the edge of the Key Biscayne. I took a lot of shots and none were any good, clouds constantly moving and either being in the wrong place or not lighted in the right way or sun being too bright. I had to put my body weight on the tripod to keep it from vibrations.  At the end I’m glad that at least one of the takes came out fairly dissent. Hopefully next time, whenever I happen to visit this place we’ll have better luck with weather.
