On my 18th birthday my parents gave me this camera. It has pretty good optics and by mid 80th standards it was one of the top of the class Soviet produced cameras. It was very cheap if you compare to the Nikons, Canons comparable stuff at the time.
Ironically, none of those pictures were taken with it. Pretty much all of them were taken with this little beast of Chinese origin. I don’t remember why I didn’t bring Zenit with me when I moved to China, but during my first week in China I bought this point and shoot beasty. It served me well for a few good years and documented a lot of memories.
Now days, both taking space in the closet. Zenit is for long term memory, it has engraving on it with birthday wishes. Toma beasty doesn’t even work anymore, but I can’t through it out yet, maybe some day it will find its way to the garbage can.
I have two of my old camera’s and can’t bear to throw them away either! Glad to know I’m not the only one 🙂
